Welcome to Husets Teater where we celebrate the staggering depths of the theatre, the art and the human mind with an intense and challenging season 2009-10.

Looking back at 2008-09, our first season as new management here at Halmtorvet, we are proud to say that we got off to a flying start! The dream about giving the theatre's activity level a boost through more performances and more life in UnderHuset and OverHuset WITHOUT compromising the theatre’s high artistic standards, have fully come through. Jazz Club Loco’s Friday concerts at OverHuset have kept particularly high standards and at UnderHuset, the electronic Thursday club, Klub Kærlighed, have reached more than 1000 Facebook members.

Our three own productions in the season 2008-09 – En smule stilhed før stormen, Blekingegade and Bums! – was received beyond all expectations both by the press and the audience, and the guest performances, Creature and Vesper, became exactly that extension of our profile as we hoped for. Husets Teater is the theatre in Copenhagen where the new Danish and international stage art is developed, presented and received by a loyal and dedicated audience! This fact was stressed in June where we finished our first season with something as exclusive as a Festival of Contemporary European Playwrigths 2009. Eight of the very best contemporary European playwrights met at Husets Teater to present their newest texts which was staged as readings by Danish directors and Danish actors. The readings and other connected events attracted packed houses every night and we plan to return next year with Festival of Contemporary European Playwrigths 2010.

In the coming season, Husets Teater offer you an international World premiere, two Danish premieres, an acclaimed revival and a number of red nights where the unpredictable is allowed to set the agenda. At the same time we continue the activities in the rest of the house with jazz concerts each Friday and techno club each Thursday. In short, we intend to continue last years tremendous tour de force, so please keep an eye on the website and put your name down for our newsletter if you would like to receive information about the performances as well as about parties, concerts, debate evenings, readings and all the other possible events at our three scenes.
